Release and Rebuild
Light for Life offender service provides practical, one to one support to help individuals to prepare for release from custody and establish stable accommodation and support within the community.
Light for Life work with individuals before release and when they come out of custody, helping them to navigate the challenges and obstacles of resettlement and reduce the risk of homelessness.
Light for Life offender services support can include;
Accommodation and housing advice – To provide support to secure suitable accommodation prior and after release.
Accessing support – to help set up benefits, manage finances and access support services within the community.
Health and wellbeing – Staff can link individuals in with our award-winning health inclusion team who can help with registering with a local GP, obtain protected, supported GP appointments and provide ongoing health support.
One to one support – Individuals will receive personalised guidance based on their needs and personal circumstances with achievable, realistic goals.
External agency referrals – Light for Life work closely with a range of partner agencies including drug and alcohol services, local housing options, health and wellbeing alongside prison and probation services to support effective release planning and resettlement
Our highly skilled and experienced staff understand the challenges faced by those leaving custody and work alongside individuals and partner agencies to provide coordinated, practical support. Light for Life’s offender team’s goal is to reduce homelessness, promote stability and help support those individuals to successfully resettle back into community.
